Ajax's 33-year-old Dutch striker Wout Weghorst could have transferred in January, as both Juventus and Benfica made a serious offer to his representatives. However, the management of Ajax decided to prevent a potential transfer. The club's newly appointed technical director, Jordi Cruijff, indicated that the striker was not permitted to leave during the winter transfer window.
Weghorst, who joined Ajax in August 2024, has a contract that expires on June 30, 2026. The Dutch international has 51 caps and 14 goals for his country. His current market value is €2.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
