Zvonimir Šarlija Transfer from Hajduk Split to Paphos

Sportske Novosti reports on the potential return of Zvonimir Šarlija to Hajduk Split after his loan spell at Pafos. Zvonimir Šarlija spent the last half-season on loan at Pafos in Cyprus, where he played 21 matches and was crucial in winning the championship. The loan agreement included a buyout clause of 800,000 euros, which Pafos found too high and attempted to negotiate a lower fee. The deadline for activating the clause expired at the end of May, leading to the likelihood of Šarlija returning to Hajduk Split. His contract with Hajduk binds him until 2027.

It has been reported that he has recently fallen out of favor with Hajduk's coach, Gennaro Gattuso, which resulted in him losing his regular starting position. Pafos, a club that has increasingly become a destination for Croatian players, is currently leading the Cypriot championship. The team includes Croatian internationals such as goalkeeper Ivica Ivušić and winger Mislav Oršić, along with former Dinamo midfielder Ivan Šunjić. The squad is captained by Brazilian forward Jairo, who previously played for Hajduk.
