Former QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth is interested in reuniting with 23-year-old French-Algerian defender Ziyad Larkeche at Gillingham, but it is understood that the player is unlikely to want to move to a League Two club. At QPR, Larkeche is considered lower in the selection order under Julien Stéphan, and the club is prepared to approve his departure. Barnsley is interested in bringing the defender back to the club, while newly-promoted Bromley and French clubs Annecy, Rodez and Guingamp are also interested in signing him on loan. Larkeche, who has six caps for France U20, joined QPR in July 2023 and his current market value is €700k, according to Transfermarkt.
