Barnsley, a League One side, is interested in bringing French and Algerian left-back Ziyad Larkeche back to the club on loan from QPR before the transfer deadline on Tuesday. Larkeche is not in manager Julien Stéphan's plans at the London club, and it is reported that the club is prepared to sanction his departure. Barnsley faces competition from newly-promoted Bromley, and the French clubs Annecy, Rodez, and Guingamp are also interested in signing the 23-year-old on loan. Former QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth is also interested in a reunion with the player at Gillingham, but it is considered unlikely that Larkeche will want to move to a League Two club. Larkeche joined QPR in July 2023 and has been capped six times by France at the U20 level. His current market value is €700k, according to Transfermarkt.
