Full-back Ziyad Larkeche has been re-signed by Barnsley on loan from Queens Park Rangers for the remainder of the season. Larkeche was previously on loan at Barnsley for the 2022-23 campaign, at which time he was a Fulham player. After being released by Fulham, he joined QPR in 2023 and spent the 2024-25 season at Dundee. Head coach Daniel Stendel stated that Ziyad adds real depth to their left-back options and is someone who enjoyed his previous time with the club, adding that they therefore know he wants to be part of this.

Ziyad Larkeche is expected to complete a loan move from QPR to Barnsley. A deal has been agreed for him to return to Oakwell, where he spent most of the 2022-23 season on loan from Fulham before moving to Loftus Road on a free transfer. Barnsley have pursued Larkeche because he is not part of head coach Julien Stephan’s plans for this season.

Barnsley faces competition from newly-promoted Bromley, and the French clubs Annecy, Rodez, and Guingamp are also interested in signing the 23-year-old on loan. Former QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth is also interested in a reunion with the player at Gillingham, but it is considered unlikely that Larkeche will want to move to a League Two club. Larkeche joined QPR in July 2023 and has been capped six times by France at the U20 level. His current market value is €700k, according to Transfermarkt.
