Zakaria Aboukhlal could soon join Genoa, despite previously being close to an agreement with French club Auxerre. The 26-year-old Moroccan international winger has 22 caps and 3 goals for his country. He now appears likely to remain in Italy, as negotiations between his current club Torino and fellow Serie A side Genoa are reportedly at an advanced stage and could be concluded soon. Aboukhlal's contract with Torino is valid until mid-2029, and Transfermarkt cites his market value as being six million euros. Spanish club Elche has also been linked with the player. Torino signed Aboukhlal from Toulouse in July 2025 for a reported fee of €8.5 million, and in January 2026, Nantes reportedly proposed a loan with a €6 million purchase option.
