Scottish midfielder Zach Bruce, 18, has joined League Two side Stranraer on loan from Hibernian as part of a Cooperation Loan Agreement between the two clubs. Defender Lewis Gillie has also moved to Stair Park under the same arrangement. Hibernian manager David Gray stated that Bruce impressed during pre-season and that the loan provides a great opportunity for him to get regular senior football experience. The terms of the deal allow Bruce to remain available for selection for Hibernian and he can be recalled at any point, with the flexibility to then return to Stranraer. The manager of the League Two side, Chris Aitken, had previously mentioned being in dialogue with Hibs to bring in a midfielder and a centre-half. Hibernian confirmed the loan via a social media post on July 10, 2026. Bruce's contract at Hibernian expires in May 2026.
