Sporting de Gijón announced through a statement that French-Congolese central defender Yann Kembo will join UD Ibiza, a Primera RFEF team, on loan until the end of the season. The agreement does not include a purchase option, and the club wished the player success. Sporting's sporting management sought the transfer during the winter window to enable the 23-year-old to gain more playing time for his development, as he had only played 45 minutes in the league. His involvement was greater in the Copa del Rey, where he started two games. Sporting had renewed Kembo's contract last summer until 2028, a sign of the club's belief in his potential after three seasons with the second team, before his promotion to the first team. The transfer also helps alleviate Sporting's issues with squad registration.
