According to HLN, 21-year-old Ecuador international Yaimar Medina is the subject of interest because of his potential, but Genk does not yet plan to let him leave.

Yaimar Medina, a 21-year-old Ecuadorian left-back, was observed by scouts during Genk's Europa League play-off. The defender has four caps for Ecuador and has made 20 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League this season, providing one assist. His contract with the Belgian club is valid until June 2029, and he has a current Transfermarkt market value of €4.00m. Several clubs have been linked with Medina, including Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, and Manchester City. Genk signed him in January 2025 for a reported fee of €5.0 million.
