Fiorentina is seeking a new goalkeeper who is younger than David De Gea and capable of participating in the build-up play, a characteristic that aligns with the philosophy of their new goalkeeping coach, Claudio Filippi. La Nazione reports that while Christos Mandas is a primary target, Lecce captain Wladimiro Falcone has also been considered as an option for the position in recent weeks. Falcone is a 31-year-old Italian. He made 38 appearances in Serie A during the 2025/2026 season and is under contract until June 2028. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.50m. Falcone has also been linked with Torino and Bologna. Lecce reportedly paid €4 million to sign him from Sampdoria in July 2023.
