Wilmar Barrios, a 31-year-old Colombian midfielder, is reportedly seeking to leave Zenit and return to his native Colombia. He has expressed interest in joining Atletico Nacional. The South American club, however, would only be able to afford the transfer if they secure a spot in the Copa Libertadores 2026, a move that would justify the financial expenditure. A loan deal is being considered as one of the possible options. Barrios has been part of Zenit since February 2019, having been transferred from Boca Juniors for €15 million. His contract with the St. Petersburg team is valid until the summer of 2027. As per Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €8 million.
