After excelling across two loan spells at Merthyr Town, Welsh right-back Will Spiers, 20, secured a permanent move to a club in the National League North this summer. The transfer followed the expiration of his Cardiff contract on June 30, with his exit from the club becoming official on July 1 as one of several players whose deals had concluded. Spiers, who has been capped four times for the Wales U19 team, made 22 appearances and provided 4 assists in the National League North during the 2025/2026 season. His new contract with Merthyr Town runs until June 30, 2027.
