According to Stefankiewicz, Polonia awaited a final decision and were capable of meeting the player's contractual demands. However, their pursuit failed when Wisła Płock entered the negotiations and persuaded Nowak with the opportunity to play in the Ekstraklasa, resulting in his eventual loan move there from Górnik Zabrze.
