Admar Lopes, the director of Vasco, had made a trip to Europe in a bid to expedite the search for a defender, considering Tormena as an ideal candidate for the position due to his capability to operate on the right side. Initially, Vasco had set their sights on Carlos Cuesta, who is now on his way to Spartak Moscow, but the club eventually finalized the signing of Robert Renan. Tormena, who started his career in Brazil with São Paulo before moving to Portugal, drew the attention of Braga in 2019 and subsequently joined Krasnodar in 2023. His contract with the Russian club is valid until June 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €7 million.
