Lugano is among several clubs, including Basel, Sturm Graz, and Salzburg, that have been interested in 18-year-old Austria Vienna midfielder Vasilije Markovic for some time. Italian club Como is now preparing to try and sign the player, who also drew interest from Lazio in August. Markovic recently extended his contract with his current club until 2029. The Austrian midfielder joined his current club in February 2026 and is valued at €3.00m. He has yet to be capped at senior international level.
