Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım, previously linked with strikers Alexander Sörloth and Romelu Lukaku, has reportedly turned his attention to Vangelis Pavlidis. It is understood that Yıldırım's team has initiated an attempt to sign the 27-year-old Greek striker. Pavlidis plays for Benfica under manager Jose Mourinho. Aides of the presidential candidate are said to have made initial contact with the player's agent. Pavlidis has 55 caps and 10 goals for Greece, and he joined Benfica from AZ Alkmaar in July 2024 for a fee that was reported as €18 million. Benfica may be open to Pavlidis's departure during the summer transfer window. The striker scored 30 goals and provided 6 assists in 52 official games last season and is also attracting interest from many other clubs, especially in Europe. A final decision on his future is expected at the end of the season. Pavlidis has a contract with the Portuguese club until June 30, 2029, and his market value is estimated at 32 million euros.
