Oleh Mazurenko, the sporting director for Obolon, confirmed that Ukrainian defender Valeriy Dubko, 24, has moved to Metalist 1925, explaining this was the reason the club ended its collaboration with the player. Mazurenko stated that Dubko, who had been with Obolon for two and a half years, had signed a preliminary contract with his new team. He added that an agreement was subsequently reached at the executive level for the transfer to be completed this winter. While Mazurenko could not disclose the financial figures of the deal, he noted that the transfer serves as an example of a player from Obolon moving to a higher level.
