Universidad de Chile is in advanced negotiations to sign the 22-year-old Uruguayan defender Valentín Gauthier. Talks with León, which Gauthier joined in July 2025, are in their final stage for a one-year loan that includes a purchase option. Gauthier has 11 caps for the Uruguay U20 team and has a contract with the Mexican club until June 2029. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.50m.
