Václav Jurečka Transfer from Rizespor to Baník Ostrava
Václav Jurečka has joined Baník Ostrava as the club's second official winter reinforcement after terminating his contract with Turkish club Rizespor. The 31-year-old forward stated his desire to return to the Czech Republic and mentioned that he had been in contact with Baník. He explained that the club's owner contacted him, from which he felt a very strong interest. Jurečka added that Baník is a major club with excellent fans, and the fact that he lives in Ostrava made the decision simpler. Luděk Mikloško, the head of FC Baník Ostrava's sports section, said that the club was looking for an experienced, goal-scoring striker and that Jurečka perfectly fits this profile. Mikloško pointed out that the player is proven in the Czech league, has played for the national team, and possesses significant experience from difficult league and cup matches with Slavia, where he successfully scored goals. He also expressed confidence that Jurečka's excellent orientation in the penalty area and finishing ability would benefit the team and that the club's young players would develop alongside him. The Czech Republic international has 9 caps and 1 goal for his country. In the 2025/2026 Süper Lig season, he made 12 appearances and scored 1 goal for Rizespor, a club he joined in September 2024. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.00m.
