Uros Račić's agent, Igor Glusevic, met with Spanish coach Rafa Benitez in Athens last Friday. Benitez is interested in bringing the 28-year-old Serbian international, who has 13 caps for his country, to Panathinaikos for the new season. Račić, who has served as captain for Aris, recently expressed uncertainty about his future. He is under contract with Aris until 2029 and holds one of the highest salaries at the club, which may be difficult for the team to sustain due to a significant budget cut from the owner, making his departure likely. The midfielder was an expensive signing for Aris, having joined from Sassuolo last July for a €2,500,000 transfer fee paid by Theodoros Karipidis. The player has been proposed to top clubs, and about a year ago was reportedly linked to Beşiktaş, Olympiacos, and Anderlecht. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €3.00m.
