Polish defender Tymoteusz Puchacz, aged 26, is poised to join Azerbaijani club Sabah, even after a loan deal from Holstein Kiel to GKS Katowice was nearing completion. The move to Katowice was understood to be in its final stages when a more financially attractive offer was presented by a foreign team, later confirmed by Tomasz Włodarczyk of Meczyki.pl to be Sabah. The Azerbaijani outfit finished fifth in their league and won their domestic cup last season. Commenting on the potential transfer, former Karabach player Jakub Rzeźniczak expressed significant surprise, calling the move very strange. He regards Sabah as a mid-tier team in Azerbaijan and asserts that GKS Katowice is a stronger footballing club offering better future prospects for a player. Rzeźniczak suggested that Puchacz's only career progression from Sabah would be to have a standout season and capture the interest of Qarabagh. The player's contract at Holstein Kiel is valid until June 2028, with Transfermarkt placing his market value at an estimated €1.50m.
