Brighton are open to a loan move for 19-year-old English winger Tommy Watson this January, with Derby County having been previously linked with the former Sunderland player who joined the Amex in an eight-figure deal last summer. A number of second-tier clubs are reportedly aware as regular game time is seen as key for his development. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Millwall are now interested in signing the winger, while Stoke, Preston and Hull have also been suggested as potential destinations. Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler told Sussex World that a loan is a possibility, but stated the most important thing for Watson is to get back into his rhythm after missing training, after which the right decision will be made for the club and the player. The England U21 international joined Brighton from Sunderland in July 2025 for a reported fee of €12 million and has made 6 Premier League appearances this season.
