Tobe Leysen Transfer from OH Leuven to Genk
Het Nieuwsblad and Het Laatste Nieuws have reported that KRC Genk is working on a deal to bring back Tobe Leysen. Leysen is a 24-year-old Belgian goalkeeper and a youth product of the club. He is in the final year of his contract at OH Leuven and has been benched because the club anticipated a transfer and signed Dani van den Heuvel, who is now preferred. Genk reportedly aims to use the situation to sign him for a lower fee. The plan is for Leysen to compete with Lucca Brughmans this season and then become the number one goalkeeper next season after Brughmans departs to England. Bob Faesen also reported that Racing Genk is pursuing the OHL keeper and that an agreement is expected to be reached soon. Leysen joined OH Leuven in August 2023. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €5.00m. He has been capped once for the Belgium U21 team. Burnley has also been linked with the goalkeeper.
