Westerlo is one of several Belgian clubs interested in signing 20-year-old Dutch striker Tim van der Leij from Dutch second-division side RKC. AA Gent and OH Leuven are also interested in the player. Van der Leij, who joined RKC in August 2025 and scored 17 goals in 35 matches this season, also attracted interest from NAC Breda in his home country last winter.
