Tijs Velthuis has moved on loan from Sparta Rotterdam to Zwolle until the end of the season, with an option for Zwolle to buy. Technical director Gerry Hamstra explained that they were looking for defensive reinforcement and are excited about the arrival of Tijs Velthuis.

According to De Telegraaf, PEC Zwolle is looking to sign Tijs Velthuis before the transfer market closes. The 24-year-old Dutch defender is expected to arrive on loan from Sparta Rotterdam, where he has been under contract since 2023. Velthuis, who has only played in three matches for Sparta this season, is not regarded as a key player and was also loaned to the Italian club Salernitana for one season in 2024. His contract with Sparta Rotterdam is valid until 2028, and he has one cap for the Netherlands U18 team. His current Transfermarkt market value is €500k.
