Portuguese player Tiago Goncalves, 26, has signed a two-year contract with FC Argeș, marking his return to Romanian football one year after Hermannstadt sold him to Ujpest for €600,000. The versatile left-sided player most recently played for Újpest and had a loan spell at Mantova 1911. He was also an option for Rapid. According to statements by Daniel Niculae, the former president had proposed Goncalves to Rapid, but the club decided not to pursue the transfer. On its official website, FC Argeș announced that the signing strengthens their left flank and that the club welcomed the player. According to Transfermarkt, the left-back has a current market value of €750k. He has previously played for Portugal at the U19 level.
