FC Copenhagen and Mamelodi Sundowns are close to reaching an agreement on a transfer for 22-year-old Thapelo Maseko after a prolonged negotiation process. In recent times, FC Copenhagen has been working to sign the Mamelodi Sundowns winger, and the two clubs are close to agreeing on the framework of a deal that would send the 22-year-old South African international to the Danish capital this summer. The process is so advanced that the winger and his representatives have begun planning their trip to Copenhagen to complete the move. Thapelo Maseko’s name was mentioned in Denmark last week when the South African outlet The Times reported that Mamelodi Sundowns were, among other things, blocking a move to FC Copenhagen, which had allegedly made a bid for the attacking player. Since then, Maseko indicated that he wanted FC Copenhagen when he shared an Instagram story last Thursday showing him watching FCK’s Conference League qualifying match against Debrecen, which included a destination marker over the image.
