U.C. Sampdoria has announced the permanent acquisition of Stefan Gartenmann, a 29-year-old Swiss-Danish international, which is its first signing of the new season. The central defender has joined as a free agent after his time with Ferencvaros and has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2028. The transfer was completed after comprehensive medical examinations addressed concerns about his physical condition; these concerns were due to a serious injury he sustained during his time in Hungary. According to Transfermarkt, Gartenmann has a current market value of €1.50m; he has also been capped three times by Switzerland.
