Nürnberg was one of several clubs interested in Ascoli's 21-year-old Italian winger, Simone D'Uffizi, while NEC, Groningen, and Salisburgo also made approaches from abroad. In Italy, Lecce and Pisa pursued the player, with Pisa, in particular, making a significant offer at the beginning of the transfer window. However, Ascoli rejected all offers in July, having renewed D'Uffizi's contract and indicated that he is a fundamental player who would not be sold for less than an offer considered outside of normal market logic. His current contract is set to expire in June 2030, and his market value is €600k, according to Transfermarkt.
