Modena is working to acquire 28-year-old Albanian-Italian striker Silvio Merkaj on a permanent transfer and faces competition from Pisa and Vicenza, who are also trying to sign the striker. Südtirol has set the transfer fee at around one million euros for Merkaj, whose contract runs until 2027. The asking price is currently complicating negotiations, as Südtirol does not seem willing to offer any discounts. Merkaj joined FC Südtirol in August 2023. His current market value is €900k, according to Transfermarkt.
