Ajax's football commissioner Danny Blind sees a significant role for Sean Steur this season. Despite an oversupply of midfielders, Ajax initially had no objection to Steur's move to FC Volendam for more Eredivisie playtime. However, the supervisory board (rvc) has blocked the loan, keeping Steur in Amsterdam. Steur remains under contract with Ajax until the summer of 2028.
