Sam Greenwood Transfer from Pogoń Szczecin to Cracovia Kraków
Cracovia president Mateusz Dróżdż confirmed in an interview with Tomasz Ćwiąkała that the club received a proposal to sign Sam Greenwood, a 23-year-old English attacking midfielder, a fact previously revealed by head of scouting Jarosław Gambal. Dróżdż explained that Gambal had shown him the player's salary demands, which he considered unrealistic, stating that Greenwood would have earned three times more than Cracovia's highest-paid player. In response, Pogoń Szczecin's owner, Alex Haditaghi, described the story as contradictory, questioning how Cracovia could claim to have both rejected the player and also seen and rejected Pogoń's offer. Haditaghi publicly challenged the Cracovia president to produce a copy of this alleged offer and also disputed the salary claim, proposing a 250,000 zł charity bet on its falsehood. He suggested the conflict arose because Pogoń had signed another player, Molnár, ahead of Cracovia and accused their officials of a lack of professional etiquette for publicly discussing another team's player. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is estimated to be €3.50m.
