Salko Hamzic, a 19-year-old Austrian and Bosnian-Herzegovinian goalkeeper, has confirmed that Red Bull Salzburg retains a buyback option for him following his transfer to WSG Tirol. The goalkeeper explained that the move was mutually agreed upon with Salzburg after it was communicated that he needed more playing time and the club intended for Christian Zawieschitzky to be their primary goalkeeper. Hamzic, who had several offers including some from abroad, noted that Salzburg was very accommodating in facilitating the transfer. Regarding a potential return, he stated that he does not control whether the buyback option is exercised, and he can only control his own performance. He joined WSG Tirol in July 2026 on a contract that runs until June 30, 2028. The goalkeeper, who has represented Austria at U21 level, has a current Transfermarkt market value of €400k.
