Saël Kumbedi Transfer from Olympique Lyonnais to VfL Wolfsburg

L'Équipe has reported on an agreement between Wolfsburg and Lyon concerning the loan transfer of a right-back. According to the report, the German club Wolfsburg has secured a deal with Lyon for a one-year paid loan of the right-back, which includes a mandatory purchase option valued at 6 million euros. It is anticipated that the 20-year-old player will make his decision at the start of the week. Wolfsburg is said to have proposed a substantially higher salary for Kumbedi compared to his current earnings at Lyon, with the intention of making him a starter. The proposal reportedly includes a loan fee of 1 million euros, a mandatory purchase option of 6 million euros, and a 15% sell-on clause for any future profit.

VfL Wolfsburg is looking to acquire Sael Kumbedi from Olympique Lyon to bolster their right-back position. The initial report of Wolfsburg's interest came from Footmercato and was later verified by research from Kicker. It has been indicated that both clubs have reached a basic agreement, and negotiations are in advanced stages, although a final decision regarding the transfer has yet to be reached. The potential transfer fee being discussed is seven million Euros, with the possibility of an additional two million Euros in bonuses. Kumbedi, who became part of Olympique Lyon in 2022, was recently an unused substitute in their 3-1 win against Metz, suggesting he could be on the move soon.
