Rui Modesto Transfer from Udinese to Jagiellonia Białystok
Jagiellonia Białystok, a participant in the Europa Conference League, attempted to sign 26-year-old Angolan right-back Rui Modesto from Udinese, but the deal collapsed. The transfer did not proceed because the player did not see his future in the Ekstraklasa. This transfer attempt occurred during a difficult winter window for the club, which has been complicated by the recent sale of Oskar Pietuszewski to FC Porto for 10 million euros. Tomasz Włodarczyk of meczyki.pl has analyzed that because the market is aware of Jagiellonia's finances, other clubs are now setting higher financial demands. Modesto, who has seven caps for Angola, joined Udinese in August 2024 for a fee between €1.5 million and €2.0 million and is under contract until June 2029. He has made three Serie A appearances this season, providing one assist, and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.80m. Other clubs linked to the player during the current window are FC Copenhagen, Palermo, and Catanzaro.
