Botafogo has made an inquiry for Rubens, a 24-year-old Brazilian left-back currently at Dynamo Moscow in Russia. Originally a midfielder, the former Atlético-MG player has responded positively and expressed interest in hearing the conditions offered by the Rio de Janeiro club. The process is in its initial phase, with discussions limited to Botafogo's football department and the player's staff; the Russian club has not yet been involved. Cruzeiro and Corinthians have also approached Rubens' representatives. It is anticipated that Botafogo will next ask Dynamo Moscow about their conditions for a potential transfer. Rubens was sold to the Russian team for 12 million euros in July 2025 and has a contract valid until mid-2030. So far in the 2025/2026 season, he has made 15 appearances in the Premier Liga.
