Mundo Deportivo has reported that Rubén Peña is returning to Leganés on a free transfer. The 33-year-old right-back is rejoining the club after concluding his most recent period with Osasuna. He has signed a contract for the next two seasons with the Madrid-based team, where he had previously played between 2014 and 2016. During his first spell at Leganés, Peña contributed to the team's promotion to the second tier of Spanish football and made a significant impact, which led to his transfer to Eibar. At Eibar, he participated in 65 matches, scored ten goals, and provided eight assists. After his time at Eibar, he moved to Villarreal, where he secured a Europa League title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. Subsequently, Peña spent three seasons with Osasuna, appearing in 85 official matches before making his return to Leganés.
