Cerro Porteño attempted to sign 22-year-old Paraguayan midfielder Rúben Lezcano at the beginning of the transfer window, but the player preferred to stay in Brazil at that time. Lezcano initially wanted to use the early games of the Campeonato Carioca to demonstrate his value at his club. More recently, Olimpia and Libertad have also made inquiries and indicated a positive view on a potential deal, though the player's future remains undecided. Lezcano, who has not yet been capped by Paraguay, joined Fluminense from Libertad in February 2025 for a fee reported to be €4.8 million and his contract runs until December 2029. In the current Campeonato Carioca season, he has scored one goal in two appearances. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €3.50m.
