Ayr United have signed 22-year-old Scottish winger Ross Taylor from Stenhousemuir for an undisclosed fee. Taylor, who joined Stenhousemuir in July 2023 and scored 18 goals last season, has signed a contract until June 2029. The transfer reunites Taylor with his former manager, Gary Naysmith. Naysmith stated he was delighted Taylor selected Ayr over several other interested clubs, and described him as the most exciting player in League One last season. Taylor confirmed that Stenhousemuir had wanted to keep him, but he was eager to move to a full-time club after becoming aware of the interest.
