Roman Yaremchuk Transfer from Olympiakos Piraeus to Wieczysta Kraków
Sławomir Peszko, the Vice President for Sports Affairs at Wieczysta Kraków, stated that the club had discussions this summer about a potential loan for 30-year-old centre-forward Roman Yaremchuk from Olympiakos. He mentioned that Wieczysta was aware the forward had not been registered for the Champions League. The Ukraine international, who has 69 caps and 18 goals for his country, reportedly showed initial interest in a move to the Ekstraklasa, but the transfer was not completed. According to Peszko, the deal failed because the club considered the player's financial demands to be too high. He also stated that another contributing factor was the nature of the proposed deal, as Wieczysta preferred a player for a longer term rather than a temporary loan, which they believed involved a high cost for a player who would ultimately have to be returned. Yaremchuk is under contract with the Greek club until June 2028 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.50m. He has also been linked with Olympique Lyonnais, which reportedly had a €5 million purchase option that Olympiacos was demanding between May and August 2026.
