Roggerio Nyakossi Transfer from OH Leuven to West Ham United

According to Het Nieuwsblad, Rogerio Nyakossi has interest from several clubs in Germany and England, including West Ham. The source states that OHL does not want to cooperate with a transfer in the winter, and has agreed with Nyakossi that negotiations can begin only from February. OHL is open to negotiations from that point and hopes to receive a multiple of the 800,000 euro they paid for the player.

Voetbalnieuws.be reports that West Ham United is very interested in signing Roggerio Nyakossi. OH Leuven has already received a bid of 2 million euro for the player, but they want significantly more.

West Ham are tracking OH Leuven centre-back Roggerio Nyakossi. It is understood that the East London club has enquired about the 21-year-old. He is a 6ft 4 Switzerland Under-21 international of Swiss and Togolese nationality with 8 caps for the U21 side. The Hammers face competition from Southampton and Portsmouth, who are also interested in signing him. Portsmouth reportedly had a £1.5 million bid rejected by the Belgian side in the summer, while Southampton have registered an interest this winter. The former Marseille defender is also being monitored by clubs in Serie A and the Bundesliga. Scouts were impressed by his performance for Switzerland's Under-21s in a match against France in November. Nyakossi's contract at OH Leuven is valid until June 2027, and so far this season he has made 11 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, scoring 2 goals. He joined his current club in January 2025 for a fee reported to be around €1 million, having previously moved from Servette to Olympique Marseille II for a reported €2.0 million in July 2022.
