Rodriguinho Transfer from São Paulo to Botafogo

Globo.com reported that São Paulo attempted in December to involve midfielder Rodriguinho in a player swap with Botafogo. The negotiations did not proceed because players including Vitinho, Savarino, and Marlon Freitas were resistant to playing for the São Paulo club.

According to Globo.com, São Paulo and Botafogo have been in negotiations for weeks regarding the transfer of Rodriguinho as part of a player exchange. São Paulo views the possibility of the exchange pessimistically due to a lack of progress in the talks.

São Paulo and Botafogo are negotiating the release of midfielder Rodriguinho. The clubs are negotiating the terms of the release and are also trying to reach agreements with the players involved. According to people involved in the negotiations, as reported by ge, it is expected that at least one of three swaps will happen, but not quickly. It is expected that an agreement will not be announced until 2026.

Midfielder Rodriguinho from São Paulo is expected to join Botafogo, but the negotiations still include the possibility of Botafogo players moving to the São Paulo club.

Arrangements are in place for Botafogo to acquire midfielder Rodriguinho as part of a package deal. The transfers are expected to happen on loan, with fixed purchase values.

Botafogo has a positive view of São Paulo's 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder Rodriguinho as part of ongoing discussions between the two clubs about a potential player exchange or a monetary deal. The discussions also involve other players. Botafogo has made offers for Pablo Maia and Ferraresi, and São Paulo is assessing Vitinho, “Tucu” Correa, and Savarino. A meeting between the clubs is scheduled for the upcoming Wednesday to continue the negotiations. Rodriguinho joined São Paulo in July 2022 and has a contract until the end of 2026. He has been capped three times for Brazil's U16 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €6.00m.
