América has legal advice to terminate Rodrigo Holgado's contract for just cause. According to journalist Felipe Sierra, the decision to end the relationship follows a response from FIFA's Appeal Committee. While América decides Holgado's future, the Malaysian national team is also working to resolve the issue and will take evidence to the CAS to see if the forward can be cleared. Rodrigo Holgado, along with seven other players, was sanctioned by FIFA for violations in the naturalization process.
