During the European transfer window, Eintracht Frankfurt from Germany inquired about the 26-year-old Argentine centre-forward Rodrigo Castillo, but the club only proposed a loan. The Argentine club stated they would only consider a permanent transfer for the player. Castillo is under contract until the end of 2028 and, according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €4.00m. Castillo has one goal and three assists in four appearances in the domestic league this season. The Brazilian club Fluminense has also been linked with the forward. Lanús acquired Castillo from Gimnasia La Plata in July 2025 for a fee of €1.7M. Prior to that transfer, in January 2025, Gimnasia had reportedly rejected loan-to-buy offers from Mazatlán and Vasco da Gama with purchase options of approximately €2.8 million and €2.3 million, respectively.
