Considered his team's best player, the dribbler and scorer has scored six times in 16 league appearances. A scout from the Seville-based club extended a trip to Vinkovci specifically to watch Gonzalez, who wore the captain's armband in a match against Varaždin, after attending a game in Zagreb that involved Dinamo. He has been with the Croatian club since February 2020 and is under contract until June 2027. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €700k. Trabzonspor and Dynamo Kyiv have also been linked with the player.
