Richie Smallwood, a 35-year-old English defensive midfielder, has joined Bristol Rovers on a contract until the end of the campaign after a brief period at fellow League Two side Tranmere, where he made 20 starts in the first half of the season. Smallwood, who assisted Bradford in achieving promotion last season, now aims to help his new club increase its distance from the relegation zone under manager Steve Evans, who became manager in December. The midfielder has one cap for the England U19 team. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €50k.
