Ricardo Mathias, a 19-year-old Brazilian centre-forward who was previously a target for Manchester United, is expected to leave Internacional for Al-Ahli soon. The Saudi club will acquire the player for a fee of €9.25 million, which is a large reduction from his previous €65 million release clause. Mathias has scored one goal in two appearances for Brazil's U20 team and is finalising his move to Jeddah, with the transfer anticipated to be formally completed in the near future. The forward joined Internacional in August 2024 and was under contract until December 2028. Internacional's need to balance their finances resulted in a weak negotiating position, and they will receive 60 per cent of the fee, with the other 40 per cent owed to his former club, Ferroviaria.
