Romanian winger Răzvan Marincean, 17, who plays for Farul, spoke about a transfer to Benfica that did not happen during the summer transfer window. Marincean stated his belief that the Portuguese club is still interested in him and that the transfer could happen in the coming months. He said he did not know why the deal did not go through but felt it was very close to being completed, adding that a move could happen in the winter or summer. In response, Farul's president, Gică Popescu, stated he was unaware if Benfica's interest was still current. Popescu also expressed his view that Marincean is too inexperienced for a transfer abroad at this time and should focus on playing for his club. Marincean has 2 caps for the Romania U18 team. His market value is currently €250k, according to Transfermarkt.
