Petrolul president Claudiu Tudor revealed that 16-year-old Romanian striker Rareș Manolache is on a list for Red Bull Salzburg. Tudor also said that Betis Sevilla is interested in the player and that their representatives attended a match to observe him. He stated that the Spanish club convinced Manolache's family regarding a transfer, which resulted in a dispute with Petrolul's management. According to Tudor, players such as Manolache attract the attention of foreign clubs after they receive playing time in the top league. The forward joined Petrolul in July 2025 and does not have any caps for the Romania U16 team.
