Petar Stojanović Transfer from Empoli to Legia Warszawa

Petar Stojanović joined Legia Warszawa on a free transfer after his contract with Empoli expired. He spent the last season on loan at Salernitana and completed 31 appearances, with 28 in the Italian Serie B. Stojanović is a regular for the Slovenian national team, with 66 caps and 3 goals. He signed with Legia until June 30, 2028, bringing experience from 5 Croatian championships and 61 Serie A matches.

Petar Stojanović is set to appear in Warsaw for medical tests today. Shortly after, the Slovenian player is expected to sign a three-year contract with Legia Warszawa and join the team in Austria for their training camp. The negotiations between Legia and Petar Stojanović are reportedly in their final stages according to journalist Sebastian Staszewski. Stojanović has been a 66-time representative for Slovenia and participated in the last European Championships. He previously played for Dinamo Zagreb and has experience in Serie A and Serie B.

Petar Stojanovic, whose contract with Empoli is expiring and will not be renewed, is set to leave Italy after four seasons. According to Polish media, as reported by Pianetaempoli, he has reached an agreement with Legia Warsaw on a two-year contract with an option for a third year. The medical examination is expected by the end of this week before the final signing.

Legia Warszawa is poised to sign Petar Stojanović as their new player. The Slovenian defender had been previously associated with Wieczysta Kraków, but it was reported that Legia Warszawa offered a more attractive development path for the 29-year-old. The deal is nearly complete, with Stojanović anticipated to take over duties from Paweł Wszołek on the right side. The 66-time Slovenian international, who has been part of clubs such as Dinamo Zagreb, NK Maribor, and Sampdoria, had spent the previous months at Salernitana, where he participated in 31 matches last season. Legia, the winners of the Polish Cup, are making Stojanović their first summer signing under the new coach's regime. The club is set to commence their season on July 10 against FK Aktobe in the Europa League qualifiers.
