Four other Ligue 1 clubs are also interested in the Serbian international, and Lorient is considered the most likely destination. Monaco, Paris FC, and Lyon have also scouted the player. The transfer to Olympiacos did not proceed due to a disagreement over the payment structure of the proposed €8 million fee. Before the transfer did not proceed, reports in June 2026 indicated a competing offer of €8 million from Coventry City and a rejected €7 million bid from AZ Alkmaar. Ludogorets' asking price was reportedly €10 million or more earlier in the year. Stanić has two caps and one goal for Serbia, joined Ludogorets in July 2025, and his contract runs until June 2028.
